How this finder differs from the government registers
The NDIS provider finder and the NDIS Commission register answer one question well: is this provider registered. That is the authoritative source and you should always confirm registration there.
They cannot tell you which providers accept plan-managed funding, which have staff who speak your language, which support a specific condition, or which actually reply when you contact them. That is what this tool adds, using 35,252 provider profiles and response times measured on the Carevo platform.
Registration requirements depend on how your plan is managed. Agency-managed participants can only claim from registered providers. Self-managed and plan-managed participants may use registered or unregistered providers, though some supports such as specialist behaviour support and Specialist Disability Accommodation require registration either way.
What Carevo does and does not do
Carevo is a connection platform. It does not deliver care, employ support workers, or manage NDIS or aged care funding. Carevo does not vet, screen, inspect or endorse providers or workers. Registration labels are copied from public government registers and can be out of date, so confirm them on the register before you decide. Any provider can have a free listing and claim its profile. To connect with a family and receive their contact details, a provider needs a paid subscription. Paid plans start at $499 a month and each plan includes a set number of connections per month. No provider can pay for a higher position, a badge or an activity rating.
How results are ordered
Every provider matching your filters is scored on five signals and shown highest first. The full weighting:
| Signal | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Response speed | up to 4 | Median time to reply to enquiries sent through Carevo |
| Registration | 3 | Registered with the NDIS Commission |
| Claimed profile | 2 | The provider controls its listing through a Carevo account |
| Platform activity | up to 2 | Record of accepting and serving enquiries over time |
| Service area | up to 1 | How many suburbs the provider covers |
Nothing a provider pays for affects their position. There is no paid placement, no sponsored result and no advertising weighting anywhere in this ordering. Providers pay a subscription to connect with families. Response speed and platform activity can only build up through connections, so subscribers are more likely to score on those two signals.
Response times are shown only for the 3,782 providers who have actually received and answered enquiries through Carevo. A provider with no enquiry history shows no response time rather than a flattering default.
Registration status reflects what the provider reports and what we hold from the government registers. It can change at any time, so confirm it on the NDIS Commission register or My Aged Care before you commit. Provider data is refreshed each time the site is rebuilt.
Common questions
Do I have to use a registered NDIS provider?
Not always. If your plan is agency-managed (NDIA-managed) you can only claim from providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. If you are self-managed or plan-managed you may use registered or unregistered providers. Some supports require registration regardless, including specialist behaviour support and Specialist Disability Accommodation.
How is this different from the NDIS provider finder?
The government registers tell you whether a provider is registered. This tool also lets you filter by the services they actually deliver, the funding types they accept, the languages their staff speak and the conditions they support, and shows how quickly they respond to enquiries on Carevo. Always confirm registration on the official register before you commit.
Does Carevo check these providers?
Carevo shows registration details copied from public registers and links you to the official Australian registers so you can confirm them yourself. We do not vet providers, and a listing is not an endorsement.
Is it free?
Yes. Searching is free and connecting with providers is free for families. Providers pay a subscription to receive enquiries, and that does not affect their position in any ranked list.
