How we rank providers

Rankings in Australia are based on real outcomes between providers and families on our platform. They are recalculated daily and cannot be purchased or influenced by advertising.

  • How this list is built. Providers shown here list Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, and Audiologist among their professions, or offer therapy and allied health. Generalist providers who only mention this service in passing are excluded, so the list reflects genuine, demonstrated capability. This support is new or still rolling out, so these are the closest-matched providers based on the criteria above while the dedicated program is established.
  • Outcomes with families. We measure what happens after a family contacts a provider. Providers where families report positive outcomes rank higher. Multiple signals are weighted across a rolling window.
  • Service match. Providers are ranked by how closely their registered services and capabilities match what you are searching for.
  • Registration and compliance. NDIS registered and government-approved aged care providers are weighted for meeting quality and safeguards standards.
  • Local presence. Providers confirmed in Australia rank above those covering only the broader region.

What "Trusted" means. The Trusted badge is awarded to providers with a consistent record of positive outcomes with families on our platform. It is based on multiple behavioural signals and family feedback, and it cannot be purchased.

What Is the Thriving Kids Program?

Thriving Kids is a new Commonwealth and state-funded pathway announced by the Australian Government in August 2025, backed by $4 billion over five years from Commonwealth and state/territory governments combined, for children aged 8 and under with autism or developmental delay who have low to moderate support needs. It sits alongside the NDIS rather than replacing it, funding allied health such as speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and audiology for children whose needs fall below the NDIS access threshold (Department of Health and Aged Care, 2025).

Who It Is For and How It Is Funded

Thriving Kids is for children aged 8 and under with autism, developmental delay or related neurodevelopmental differences whose support needs are low to moderate; a formal diagnosis is not required. Children with significant and permanent disability continue to access the NDIS Early Childhood Approach unchanged. State-commissioned Thriving Kids services begin rolling out in NSW from October 2026, with national scale expected by January 2028, when NDIS access settings for this cohort formally change (Department of Health and Aged Care, 2025). Until commissioned services reach a suburb, families can access the same allied health disciplines through the NDIS Early Childhood Approach or Medicare’s GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.

Availability on Carevo

Carevo lists 332 speech pathologists and 642 occupational therapists across its network who work with children on early intervention pathways today. For ongoing NDIS-funded early childhood support, see early childhood early intervention.
