Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly are NDIS plan management enquiries responded to?

Across 22 NDIS plan management accepted enquiries on Carevo, the median enquiry acceptance time is 3 minutes. 64% of NDIS plan management enquiries nationally have enquiry details accepted within 1 hour, and 95% within 24 hours. This is the national figure for one service, so it differs from any Lajamanu figure above, which covers every service in the suburb.

How many NDIS plan managers serve Lajamanu?

Carevo currently lists 0 organisations reporting plan management coverage for Lajamanu. Many work nationally, so local office location is less important than registration, responsiveness and service quality.

Does plan management cost the participant anything?

When plan management is included in the NDIS plan, the NDIA includes separate stated funding for the registered plan manager. The participant should still check the fee and service agreement.

Must an NDIS plan manager be registered?

Yes. Participants using plan-managed funding must choose a plan manager registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Confirm the organisation in the official register.

Can plan-managed participants use unregistered providers?

Yes, for supports where current NDIS rules permit it and the purchase fits the participant's plan. The plan manager checks invoices and pricing but does not decide the participant's goals or deliver the support.

What should I compare between plan managers?

Compare registration, invoice turnaround, budget reporting, portal access, support hours, privacy, complaint handling, notice periods and conflicts of interest. Ask for written answers in the service agreement.

Can I change plan managers?

Yes. A participant can change plan managers during the plan. Follow the notice and handover terms in the current service agreement and arrange the new registered plan manager in the participant portal or with the NDIA.

Is a plan manager the same as a support coordinator?

No. A plan manager handles invoices, payments and budget reporting. A support coordinator helps implement the plan, connect supports and build the participant's capacity to use the NDIS.

Does Carevo verify every plan manager claim?

No. Carevo displays available registration, profile, coverage and platform activity signals. Confirm official registration, fees, service standards and current onboarding availability before signing.

How plan management funding works

The participant's plan identifies which support budgets are plan managed and includes stated funding for a registered plan manager. The plan manager receives provider invoices, checks them against the plan and applicable pricing rules, pays approved invoices and claims the amount from the NDIA.

Participants remain responsible for buying supports that fit their plan and monitoring their budget. Plan-managed participants can use registered or unregistered service providers, subject to current NDIS rules and the support being funded. The plan manager itself must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

What to confirm before choosing a plan manager

Ask for the organisation's typical invoice turnaround based on recent records, not a marketing promise. Check how rejected or above-limit invoices are handled, how often budget reports arrive and whether you can see current balances and commitments in a portal.

Read the notice period, handover process, privacy terms and conflict-of-interest disclosure in the service agreement. Plan managers handle financial administration. A support coordinator has a different role and can help implement a plan and connect supports.
