How Carevo works
Carevo is a connection platform. It does not deliver care, employ support workers, or manage NDIS or aged care funding.
Carevo is a connection platform run by Carevo Pty Ltd (ABN 69 696 950 919). It helps people find NDIS and aged care providers and independent support workers, and passes care requests to providers who match the service, area and funding type.
Carevo does not deliver care, employ support workers, act as a plan manager, or decide NDIS or aged care eligibility. The service agreement is between you and the provider you choose.

How Carevo makes money
Families, participants and carers never pay Carevo. The platform is funded by provider subscriptions.
Any provider can have a free listing and claim its profile. To connect with a family and receive their contact details, a provider needs a paid subscription. Paid plans start at $499 a month and each plan includes a set number of connections per month.
| Plan | Price | Connections included |
|---|---|---|
| Free listing | $0 | None. The provider is notified of some matching enquiries but must subscribe to connect. |
| Growth | $499 a month | 20 a month |
| Enterprise | $749 a month | 40 a month |
Annual billing and a higher-volume plan arranged with Carevo are also available. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Carevo does not charge a commission, a per-connection fee or a success fee, and takes no share of what a provider earns from the care it delivers. The subscription price is the same whether or not a family goes on to use the provider.
When you send a care request, Carevo notifies providers that match the service, area and funding type. Up to 6 providers can connect with you and receive your contact details. Most places are held for subscribers; free-listed providers are also notified, but must subscribe before they can connect. Notifications to free-listed providers are capped each day and notifications to subscribers are not.
Provider payments do not change which records are included in Carevo research or how the figures are calculated.
What Carevo checks, and what it does not
Carevo does not vet, screen, inspect or endorse providers or workers. Registration labels are copied from public government registers and can be out of date, so confirm them on the register before you decide.
What the labels on a profile mean
- NDIS registration labels are imported from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's public provider register. They are a copy taken at a point in time, not a live link.
- Aged care labels are imported from Australian Government aged care provider register data, also at a point in time.
- ABNs shown on profiles are taken from the provider or its website and checked for a valid format. Carevo does not look them up on the Australian Business Register, so use the ABN Lookup link to confirm the business is active.
- A "claimed" profile means the provider has taken control of its listing through a Carevo account. It says nothing about the quality of its care.
What Carevo does not do
- Carevo does not check NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children Checks, police checks, qualifications, insurance or references for providers or workers.
- Independent support worker credentials are reported by the worker. Carevo has not sighted the documents.
- Carevo does not inspect, audit, interview or rate the quality or safety of anyone's care, and a listing is not an endorsement.
Check a provider yourself on the NDIS Commission provider register, the My Aged Care provider finder and ABN Lookup.
How directory lists are ordered
Lists are ordered by a score out of 100. The biggest parts are enquiries a provider has accepted through Carevo for this service (28), distance (20), registration status on the public register (16), services the provider says it offers (12) and funding accepted (10). Response speed, feedback, description match and the Carevo activity rating make up the rest. Subscriptions, featured status and boosts do not change the order. Only subscribers can accept enquiries, so payment matters indirectly: it lets a provider build the connection history that counts most. Lists show only providers that match the service, so a thin page shows fewer providers. The order does not assess care quality.
| Signal | Weight (of 100) | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Connections | 28 | Connections this provider has made through Carevo for this service. Only subscribers can connect. |
| Distance | 20 | Whether the provider is based in the suburb, and how far away it is if not. |
| Register status | 16 | Registration status in the NDIS Commission or aged care register data Carevo imports. A provider the register shows as revoked is not scored as NDIS registered. |
| Declared services | 12 | Service categories the provider says it offers that match the page. |
| Funding accepted | 10 | Whether the provider says it accepts the funding type the page is about. |
| Response time | 6 | How quickly the provider has accepted enquiries sent through Carevo. Missing data counts as neutral. |
| Inquirer feedback | 4 | Ratings from people who made an enquiry, for this service. Has no effect until a provider has enough ratings. |
| Description match | 2 | How closely the provider description matches the service. |
| Activity rating | 2 | The Carevo activity rating: signals from how the provider has handled enquiries on Carevo. It is not about how complete a profile is. |
Small adjustments are applied after the weighted score. A claimed profile adds 2 points. A provider that has logged in to its Carevo dashboard or accepted an enquiry in the last 7 days adds 2 points, and in the last 31 days adds 1. A provider that has paused Carevo enquiries loses 5 points, so it moves down but stays visible. There are also small corrections for providers outside the page's funding type, for enquiries the provider has accepted in the same suburb, for plan management specialists, and for condition-related enquiry activity on condition pages.
One scoring method is used for suburb, state and national lists. Subscription plan, featured status and priority or activation boosts do not change the order of a list.
Lists show only providers that match the service. If few providers match, the page shows fewer providers instead of filling the list with unrelated ones.
Providers with an NDIS Commission revocation, refusal to re-register, suspension or banning order in force are not shown in lists, rankings or counts. Their profile page stays up. Routine compliance notices do not affect listing. Carevo imports the register at a point in time, so check the register before you decide.
No provider can pay for a higher position, a badge or an activity rating on Carevo's public pages. One side effect you should know about: accepted enquiries are the largest ranking signal and feed the activity rating, and only subscribers can accept enquiries, so subscribers are more likely to have the enquiry record these measures reward.
The activity rating and the city provider lists on the blog have their own published methods. The city lists include only providers with a claimed profile and connections, and say so at the top of their method.
Limits of Carevo's information
Services, areas, languages and funding types are declared by providers and are not checked by Carevo. Counts cover providers listed on Carevo, not every provider operating in an area.
Activity figures (enquiries, connections, response times) come from Carevo's own platform records. They describe how providers behave on Carevo, not outcomes of care, and small samples are shown with their size. How platform figures are calculated is set out in our numbers.
