What the role involves

A Nursing Assistant, also called an Assistant in Nursing or AIN, provides hands-on personal care to people who need help with daily living. It is a practical, frontline role. You are not a nurse and you do not need a nursing degree, but you work as part of a clinical team and carry out tasks delegated to you by a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.

A typical shift in Leichhardt might include helping people shower, dress, and groom, supporting them at mealtimes and monitoring their food and fluid intake, and assisting with safe mobility and transfers between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
