What the role involves

Podiatrists working within Carevo’s network provide foot and lower limb care to NDIS participants and aged care recipients in their homes and residential facilities across Bathurst and nearby areas. Rather than seeing clients in a clinic, you travel to them, which means you are assessing and treating people in their actual living environment.

Day to day, this includes general nail care, skin treatments, wound assessment and management, biomechanical assessments, orthotic prescription and fitting, and education on foot health and self-monitoring. Diabetic foot management is a significant part of the work, particularly in aged care settings, where early detection of complications can prevent serious outcomes.

You will also write clinical notes and contribute to NDIS or aged care documentation. If a client’s foot health intersects with other health concerns, you may communicate with their GP or other treating practitioners.

Who you would support

Your clients will typically be older Australians receiving services through a Home Care Package or Commonwealth Home Support Programme, and NDIS participants who have listed podiatry as a funded support. People with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, or physical disability often have significant podiatric needs that are best addressed through regular, accessible care.

Many of the people you see in Bathurst will not have easy access to clinic-based podiatry, so mobile service delivery makes a genuine difference to their health outcomes.
