What cleaner pay looks like

Cleaners in home care and community settings are generally paid under the SCHADS Award home care stream at the entry classification (Level 1); cleaners in residential aged care are instead covered by the Aged Care Award.

Casual employees receive a 25% loading on top of these rates (often quoted as roughly $34 to $40 an hour for ordinary casual hours).
