early childhood support worker profiles on Carevo in the same area

In the 90 days to 12 October 2026, people across New South Wales submitted 13 care requests through Carevo that an early childhood support worker could take on. The services asked for most were therapy, allied health and support coordination. The suburbs with the most were Dubbo (1), Hornsby (1), Hurstville (1) and Newcastle (1). 6 of the 13 arrived in the last 30 days, so demand has been rising.

85% of these requests were sent by a family member or carer, and 15% by a support coordinator. A coordinator or plan manager often places more than one participant, so a good first job with one can lead to more. 69% asked for support to start within a week, so a quick reply counts for a lot here.

What early childhood support worker pay looks like

Early childhood support workers in the NDIS early childhood approach are generally paid under the SCHADS Award, with the rate depending on classification level and qualifications.

Casual employees receive a 25% loading on the ordinary rate (about $45 to $55 an hour on weekdays), with casual weekend and public holiday rates of 1.75x, 2.25x and 2.75x the ordinary rate. Figures are full-time and part-time minimums for employees; independent contractors set their own rates.

How that compares, as of 1 July 2026

$36.22–$43.42

an hour · SCHADS Award minimum, social and community services employee, Level 2 to 3, full-time (Fair Work pay guide)

$73.58

an hour · NDIS price limit for standard weekday self-care support: the most a provider can bill a participant's plan for that hour, which funds wages, on-costs and overheads. A service price cap, not a worker wage (Pricing Schedule 2026–27)

Work out your own rate with the SCHADS award tool or the pay rate calculator.

Indicative hourly rates based on the SCHADS Award (MA000100), from the Fair Work pay guide effective 1 July 2026 (Fair Work pay guides). Modern award rates are national and do not vary by state. Pay is set by each provider and can be higher under an enterprise agreement. General information only, not financial advice.
