Overnight carers are paid under the SCHADS Award home care or disability stream on two different bases: a sleepover shift attracts a flat sleepover allowance plus hourly payment for any time actually worked when woken, while an active overnight (awake) shift is paid hourly with a night shift loading on top of the base rate.
