How do I find an NDIS provider near me?

Start with your suburb. Use the search above to open your local listings page, or pick your state and drill down. Every suburb page shows the providers operating there, the services they offer, and the registration information we hold for each one.

  1. Search your suburb and open the local listings page.
  2. Filter by what you need. Suburb pages group providers by service category, and the service hubs below let you start from the support type instead.
  3. Check registration. Each profile shows registration details. Confirm current status on the NDIS Commission's Provider Register before signing anything.
  4. Shortlist two or three providers and contact them with the same scenario so you can compare pricing and inclusions fairly.
  5. Or get matched. Tell us what you need and we pass your request to available providers in your area, free.

Should you use the NDIA finder, the Commission register, or Carevo?

All three are free, and they answer different questions. The official tools only cover registered providers; this finder also lists unregistered providers, which matters if you are plan-managed or self-managed. Use them together: shortlist here, then confirm registration status on the official register.

Do you need a registered or unregistered NDIS provider?

It depends on how your plan is managed. If the NDIA manages your funding, you generally need to use registered providers. If you are plan-managed or self-managed, you can usually choose unregistered providers for many supports, which widens your options, especially in regional areas. Some supports, such as specialist disability accommodation and behaviour support involving restrictive practices, require registered providers regardless.

Registration is a quality signal, not a guarantee of fit. Response times, communication and worker continuity matter just as much, and an unregistered sole trader can be an excellent match where your plan allows it.

For the full breakdown of when each type fits and what to verify, read our guide: Registered vs unregistered NDIS providers.

What should you ask before shortlisting a provider?

Are you registered for the registration groups my supports fall under?
Do you have capacity in my suburb now, and what is your usual response time?
What are your rates against the current NDIS pricing arrangements, including travel and cancellations?
Do your workers hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks?
What happens when my regular worker is away? Who is the backup?
Can I see a sample service agreement before I commit?
What experience do you have with my disability, age group or language?
How do you handle complaints and incidents, and who do I escalate to?

Want to practise the comparison before calling anyone? The provider shortlist practice tool walks through these trade-offs with example profiles.

Frequently asked questions

How current are these provider listings?

Listings are refreshed from our provider database every time the site is rebuilt, most recently in July 2026. Registration status can change at any time, so confirm it on the NDIS Commission's Provider Register before you sign a service agreement.

How many NDIS providers can I search?

The finder covers 31,000+ provider listings across 6,200+ Australian suburbs, including NDIS, aged care and home care services. See our numbers page for how these counts are calculated.

Are unregistered providers included?

Yes. The finder lists both NDIS-registered and unregistered providers. Each profile shows the registration information we hold for that provider. If the NDIA manages your plan funding you generally need registered providers, so check your plan settings first.

Do I need an account to search?

No. Browsing and searching are free with no account. Some providers display direct contact details on their profile; for others you can send an enquiry through Carevo or use the free matching service.

Does Carevo deliver NDIS supports?

No. Carevo is a connection platform that helps participants and families find providers. It does not deliver care, employ support workers, or make eligibility decisions.

How do I verify a provider is registered?

Search the NDIS Commission's Provider Register, the official record of current, suspended and revoked registrations, and ask the provider to confirm their current registration groups in writing.
