How we rank providers

Rankings in Tasmania are based on real outcomes between providers and families on our platform. They are recalculated daily and cannot be purchased or influenced by advertising.

  • How this list is built. Providers shown here offer home modifications and related disability and aged care services.
  • Outcomes with families. We measure what happens after a family contacts a provider. Providers where families report positive outcomes rank higher. Multiple signals are weighted across a rolling window.
  • Service match. Providers are ranked by how closely their registered services and capabilities match what you are searching for.
  • Registration and compliance. NDIS registered and government-approved aged care providers are weighted for meeting quality and safeguards standards.
  • Local presence. Providers confirmed in Tasmania rank above those covering only the broader region.

What "Trusted" means. The Trusted badge is awarded to providers with a consistent record of positive outcomes with families on our platform. It is based on multiple behavioural signals and family feedback, and it cannot be purchased.

How to check a provider's credentials

Carevo lists the registration details a provider reports and links you to the official Australian registers so you can confirm them yourself. Here is what each listing shows and where to check it. A listing on Carevo is not an endorsement.

NDIS registration

Listings show whether a provider reports being NDIS registered. You can confirm a provider's current registration and approved support types yourself on the NDIS Commission's public provider register.

Aged care approval

Listings show aged care approval where it is recorded. You can check a provider's current approval and the services they deliver on the Australian Government's My Aged Care find a provider service.

ABN you can check

Most listings include the provider's Australian Business Number, shown on the profile. You can look it up on the Australian Business Register to confirm the business is registered and active.

How much does AT-HM scheme cost in Tasmania?

AT-HM Scheme in Tasmania typically costs Tiers up to $500, $2,000 or $15,000 per year. Actual rates vary by provider, funding type, and the level of support required.

How to pay for AT-HM scheme

Funding options include Support at Home AT-HM Scheme. Eligibility depends on your assessment and plan.

AT-HM Scheme by suburb in Tasmania

Browse providers in the busiest areas, or use any suburb page to see who services your postcode.

What is the AT-HM Scheme?

The Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) Scheme is a separate Support at Home funding pool for equipment and home changes, split into three tiers: Low (up to $500), Medium (up to $2,000) and High (up to $15,000) a year. It sits outside your regular fortnightly Support at Home budget (Department of Health and Aged Care, 2025).

How to choose a provider for this service

The list above is ranked using the criteria explained in the methodology section. For AT-HM work, four checks narrow it further.

Registration. Confirm the provider’s occupational therapist is AHPRA registered, since Tier 2 and Tier 3 claims need an OT assessment before any quote is approved.

Response time. AT-HM approvals stall when a provider is slow to reply at enquiry stage. Check the response time by state table further down this page before you book an assessment.

Pricing transparency. Ask for a written quote against the relevant tier cap, and confirm whether the OT assessment fee and any tradesperson quotes are itemised separately or bundled into the total.

Coverage. Carevo lists 2,619 aged care providers nationally, but AT-HM specialists who also handle building work are unevenly spread, so ask whether the provider actually visits your suburb.

Which funding pays for AT-HM Scheme work, and who qualifies?

The AT-HM Scheme sits within Support at Home and is the only funding stream that pays for it; NDIS participants access equivalent equipment and modifications through their Improved Daily Living or Home Modifications support categories instead (Department of Health and Aged Care, 2025). To qualify, you need to be 65 or older, or 50 or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and hold an AT-HM tier recorded on your Notice of Decision following a Single Assessment System assessment (My Aged Care, 2025). Funding is available for around 12 months from approval, with a 60-day claim window afterward, so unused tier amounts lapse (My Aged Care, 2025).

Availability across Australia

Carevo lists 2,619 aged care providers nationally, with AT-HM specialists concentrated most heavily in NSW, where OT and building trades are easiest to find together. If you need the formal OT assessment first, start with assistive technology assessment, or compare home modifications and maintenance providers directly for Tier 2 and Tier 3 building work.

How this page is compiled

The provider rankings and figures on this page come from Carevo platform records, including provider registrations, measured response times and coverage, together with the cited official sources. Carevo is an Australian platform that connects families with vetted NDIS and aged care providers. Carevo does not deliver care itself.
