What does a Credentialled Diabetes Educator do?

A CDE is a health professional, most often a registered nurse, dietitian or pharmacist, who has completed postgraduate study in diabetes education plus supervised practice to earn ADEA credentialling. What a diabetes educator costs and who funds one

Credentialled Diabetes Educators set their own private fees, and there are three subsidised routes worth checking first.

Medicare. A GP Chronic Condition Management plan covers up to five rebated allied health visits a year shared across all disciplines. For someone with diabetes plus a podiatry need, those five disappear quickly, so allocate them deliberately rather than first-come-first-served.
