When to use this code
Use this code when a support worker lives in the participant’s home and provides ongoing assistance throughout the day and night. This is different from sleepover codes, which cover overnight availability only. A live-in arrangement means the worker is present and available across the full 24-hour period. This code requires a quote because the total cost depends on the specific arrangement and hours of active support needed.
Common billing scenarios
- A participant requires 24-hour availability from a support worker who lives in their home. The provider submits a quote detailing the expected hours of active support versus standby time, and the NDIA approves funding based on the individual arrangement.
- A live-in carer provides active support for 6 hours across the day (morning routine, meals, evening routine) and is available for the remaining hours. The quote reflects both the active and standby components.
Provider notes
- This is a quotable support, so there is no fixed price limit. You will need to submit a detailed quote to the NDIA or the participant’s plan manager before delivering the service. The quote should break down the expected costs and justify why the amount is reasonable.
- This is a Core support, which means participants can generally use their Core funding flexibly across different Core categories (unless their plan states otherwise). Check with the participant’s plan manager if you are unsure about flexibility.
