Finding myotherapy or remedial massage in Queensland

NDIS funding

The NDIA excludes standalone massage therapy, including remedial/general massage delivered by a non-allied-health professional, even when recommended or supervised by an allied health professional. A functional goal or supporting letter does not override that exclusion. Myotherapy should not be assumed claimable. An eligible physiotherapy intervention is a separate support. Do not book an excluded service on the assumption that a report or plan reassessment will make it claimable. Discuss an appropriate disability-related allied health pathway with the treating team.

Private fees and insurance

Practitioners set private session fees. Ask for a written quote covering session length, travel and cancellation charges. Confirm recognition and any rebate with your health fund before booking; membership or a provider number does not establish that your policy covers the session.

Support at Home

Confirm that the proposed service, practitioner qualification and assessed need meet the current service-list rules before using the budget. Do not treat myotherapy and eligible remedial massage as interchangeable. Approved clinical supports can have no participant contribution, but prices still affect the available budget. How it is kept honest: Recalculated daily from scratch, shown only above the baseline and only with at least two scored signals, and removed automatically when either stops being true. It cannot be purchased.
