Coverage by region in New South Wales
Workers delivering NDIS supports in New South Wales need the NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC), administered by the NSW Office of the Childrenโs Guardian. 100% of NDIS support coordination providers listed in NSW are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Unregistered providers can still deliver many supports if your plan is plan managed or self managed.
NDIS price caps do not change by state: the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits set the same maximum rates in New South Wales as everywhere else in Australia.

How do you get support coordination in your NDIS plan?
You get a support coordinator through the Capacity Building part of your NDIS plan, under the category called Support Coordination. If your plan funds it, you pick the coordinator yourself, sign a service agreement, and pay nothing out of pocket because the NDIS pays the hours at fixed price limits (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27). Not every plan includes the category: planners fund it where needs are complex or informal support is thin. Carevo matches you with coordinators who cover your suburb, including Level 3 specialists for complex situations.
The NDIS supports more than 700,000 participants (NDIS Quarterly Report, March 2025), and coordination demand has grown with it. Price limits for support coordination did not move in the 2026-27 update, while most support worker limits rose 3.95 per cent from 1 July 2026 (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27).
What does an NDIS support coordinator do?
A support coordinator turns the funding in your plan into working supports. They find and vet providers, set up service agreements, track spending against each budget category, and gather the evidence you need for your plan review.
The NDIS funds three levels: Support Connection (Level 1, line item 07_001_0106_8_3), Coordination of Supports (Level 2, 07_002_0106_8_3) and Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3, 07_004_0132_8_3) (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27). Day to day that means monthly check-ins, chasing providers who are not delivering, flagging underspend early, and stepping in when something breaks down.
What is the difference between a support coordinator and a specialist support coordinator?
A support coordinator (Level 2) helps most participants implement a plan. A specialist support coordinator (Level 3) is a qualified professional, usually in social work, psychology, occupational therapy or mental health nursing, funded for participants whose situation involves risk or multiple service systems.
Level 3 is time-limited and higher intensity. The specialist works across health, housing, justice and child protection systems at once, manages risk, and removes barriers stopping a plan from being used (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27). Your plan states which level you have.
The NDIS funds Level 3 when complex needs put plan implementation at risk: significant mental health concerns or psychosocial disability, hospital discharge planning, child protection or family court involvement, homelessness risk, justice contact, or family and carer breakdown (NDIS, 2025). Your planner decides on evidence, so ask treating professionals to document the complexity.
Health and therapy coordination
Health and therapy coordination means getting occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, psychology, nursing and daily supports to work from the same goals. The coordinator can find providers, schedule handovers, track reports and watch the Capacity Building budget. They do not diagnose, prescribe treatment or supervise clinical work.
Ask the coordinator to keep a shared action list covering each provider, report deadline, budget and plan goal. For provider comparisons by discipline, use the NDIS therapy providers directory. For hospital discharge or high-risk clinical supports, compare complex care providers as well.
What do the three levels of support coordination cost?
The NDIS caps the hourly price of each level: support connection (Level 1) at $80.06, coordination of supports (Level 2) at $100.14, and specialist support coordination (Level 3) at $190.54, in every state, on any day, with no evening or weekend loadings (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27).
The cost comes from the Support Coordination category in your Capacity Building budget, so it does not reduce your Core Supports, and you pay nothing yourself. If yours does not include it, ask at your next plan reassessment.
Narrowing the rankings to one coordinator
The list above is ranked using the criteria explained in the methodology above it. Four checks narrow it to one coordinator.
Registration. Agency-managed participants must use providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and specialist support coordination has its own registration group (0132). Confirm any claim on the Commissionโs public provider register before signing.
Independence. Many coordinators work for organisations that also deliver support work or therapy. Ask how they handle the conflict of interest when referring you to their own employer.
Carevo measures whether a provider accepts an enquiry, not when care starts or a practitioner contacts you. Confirm current capacity and a start date directly. How Carevo measures enquiry acceptance.
Coverage. Ask whether they know providers in your area, not just your state. With 32,033 NDIS providers listed on the platform, a coordinator with genuine local knowledge has plenty to match you with.
How do you tell a good support coordinator from an overloaded one?
A good coordinator answers within a couple of business days, names local providers from experience rather than reading directories, tracks your budget month by month, and arrives at your reassessment with evidence already written. There is no official caseload cap, so ask how many participants each coordinator carries.
The warning signs of an overloaded one: check-ins that quietly stop, hours invoiced in bursts with nothing visible behind them, you finding providers yourself while the coordinator does the paperwork, and coordination funding exhausted mid-plan. One is a conversation; all of them together is a reason to move.
Questions to ask a provider before signing a service agreement
- Which registration groups does your NDIS registration cover? A good answer is a number you can match on the NDIS Provider Register, including group 0132 for Level 3 funding.
- What qualifications does my coordinator hold? For Level 3, a good answer is a social work, psychology, occupational therapy or nursing credential, verifiable with AHPRA.
- Do you or your parent organisation also deliver other funded supports? A good answer is a written conflict of interest policy and a record of referring outside their own organisation.
- Who covers my file when my coordinator is on leave? A good answer is a named backup coordinator with a documented handover.
- Have you been subject to Commission compliance action? A good answer is a straight no, consistent with the NDIS Commissionโs public compliance actions register.
Can you change support coordinators?
Yes, at any time: the funding belongs to your plan, not the provider. Give the notice in your service agreement, usually two to four weeks; the new coordinator requests a handover of your file. Agency-managed participants must pick a registered provider; plan-managed and self-managed participants can go outside the register. Unused hours stay in your Support Coordination budget for the new coordinator to use.
Where providers are available
Support coordination works by phone and video as well as in person, so coverage is broader than most NDIS supports. Providers on Carevo cover 8,918 suburbs nationally, with 10,277 NDIS providers listed in NSW alone. City pages for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth list local coordinators, and the suburb directory below covers smaller areas. Many participants pair coordination with plan management, funded from a separate category.
How this page is compiled
The provider rankings and figures on this page come from Carevo platform records, including provider registrations, measured response times and coverage, together with the cited official sources. Carevo is an Australian platform that connects families with NDIS and aged care providers. Carevo does not deliver care itself.
Funding sources and checks
Check the current NDIA pricing arrangements and Support at Home program rules for the proposed service. Funding depends on the approved support and available budget; a Carevo listing is not approval. Confirm availability and a start date directly with the provider.
How we rank providers
Rankings in New South Wales use directory relevance and observable activity on Carevo: service match, distance, register-sourced status fields, whether an enquiry can reach the provider, and recent response and connection activity. Rankings are recalculated daily. They do not assess care quality or recommend a provider.
- How this list is built. Providers shown here are registered with the NDIS for Support Coordination and Assistance in Coordinating or Managing Life Stages, Transitions and Supports, or offer support coordination. Generalist providers who only mention this service in passing are excluded, so the list reflects genuine, demonstrated capability.
- Activity on Carevo. We measure recent actions such as connecting on an enquiry, opening its contact details, responding, and an inquirer reporting whether a connection helped. These are platform activity signals, not an assessment of the support delivered.
- Service match. Providers are ranked by how closely their registered services and capabilities match what you are searching for.
- Register-sourced status. NDIS registration fields come from the NDIS Commission provider register. Aged care approval fields come from the My Aged Care register. These statuses are ranking inputs, not Carevo endorsements, and you should confirm the current register entry before choosing a provider.
- Carevo enquiries. Providers who have paused requests from us are moved down among providers with the same relevance. They stay visible and are marked as not receiving Carevo enquiries.
- Recent activity. Providers active on Carevo recently (a connection, a login, or a profile update) get a small boost, the same signal shown as "Active this week" on their card. It is deliberately small: stronger relevance and condition evidence outweigh a recent login.
- Local presence. Providers confirmed in New South Wales rank above those covering only the broader region.
What the enquiries status means
It answers one question: would a request sent through Carevo today actually reach them? It is not a rating, it is not about the provider's books, and it is not a statement about their capacity, their waiting list, or the quality of their care.
- Receiving
- At least one contact on their account is set up to receive new requests from us, and someone has signed in recently enough for us to say a person is there.
- Not receiving
- Every contact on the account has unsubscribed or paused, so we have no way to pass an enquiry on.
- No status shown
- We cannot tell either way, so we say nothing rather than label the provider. The account is set to receive enquiries, but nobody has signed in recently, or there are no contact details on file. It is not a negative mark, and most listings sit here.
A provider who is not receiving our enquiries may well be taking new clients directly. Providers set this themselves and can turn it back on at any time from their Carevo account or from any email we send them. Providers not receiving our enquiries are moved down the list and never hidden. It is refreshed daily, so a provider who resumes, or signs in, reappears within a day.
What the Carevo activity rating means
The Strong activity rating describes how a provider behaves on Carevo, not the care they deliver.
- Where it starts
- Every provider starts at a baseline of 50.
- What moves it
- Enquiries from the last 90 days. The strongest positive is a care seeker naming that provider as the one who helped them. The clearest negative is connecting on an enquiry and never opening the contact details.
- How it is kept honest
- Recalculated daily from scratch, shown only above the baseline and only with at least two scored signals, and removed automatically when either stops being true. It cannot be purchased.
It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or an assessment of care quality, and we do not screen providers for complaints. Complaints are handled by the NDIS Commission and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. See the full activity rating methodology.

How to check a provider's credentials

Frequently Asked Questions
How many NDIS support coordination providers are there in New South Wales?
There are 4825 NDIS support coordination providers with active listings in New South Wales (NSW) on Carevo. Providers are ordered using service match, location, register-sourced status and observable activity on Carevo. No provider can pay for a higher position, a badge or an activity rating.
How much does NDIS support coordination cost in New South Wales?
NDIS Support Coordination in New South Wales has this published pricing context: $100.14/hour Level 2 | $190.54/hour Level 3 (NDIS price limits; funded when included in your plan). Actual rates vary by provider and the level of support required.
How quickly can I start with a provider in New South Wales?
Ask the provider to confirm an appointment and start date. Carevo measures acceptance of enquiry details, not first contact or care starting. Historical platform activity does not establish current capacity.
Does Carevo cover regional New South Wales or just the capital?
Both. Carevo lists providers across all of New South Wales, including regional and rural areas. Many providers service wide regions, and some supports (like plan management) are delivered Australia-wide by phone and online portal.
Which areas of New South Wales have the most NDIS support coordination providers?
By local government area, coverage on Carevo is deepest in Blacktown (746 providers), Canterbury-Bankstown (704 providers), Liverpool (668 providers). Regional NSW is covered too: many providers service wide areas beyond their base suburb.
Do I have to use an NDIS registered provider for NDIS support coordination in NSW?
It depends on how your plan is managed. Agency-managed (NDIA-managed) funding can only be spent with registered providers, while plan-managed and self-managed participants can also use unregistered providers. 100% of NDIS support coordination providers listed in NSW on Carevo are NDIS registered.
