About Resonance Music Therapy
Resonance Music Therapy provides evidence-based, individual and group music therapy services for older adults living at home across Sydney. Led by Barak, a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) accredited with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA), Resonance specialises in supporting older adults living with dementia, post-stroke recovery, Parkinson's disease, social isolation, depression, chronic pain, and general wellbeing needs.
Barak holds a Master of Music Therapy (University of Melbourne), a Bachelor of Music Performance (Australian Institute of Music), and advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) — an evidence-based clinical framework for neurological conditions including stroke, Parkinson's, and acquired brain injury.
All sessions are delivered in the client's home or aged care setting, using familiar and meaningful music tailored to each individual's goals and preferences. Family members and carers are welcome to participate.
Services are available as ongoing Support at Home sessions and through the Restorative Care Pathway for short-term rehabilitation episodes.
Music therapy is classified as a Clinical Support under the Support at Home program, meaning it is fully government-funded with no out-of-pocket cost to eligible participants.
