How we rank providers

Rankings in Queensland are based on real outcomes between providers and families on our platform. They are recalculated daily and cannot be purchased or influenced by advertising.

  • How this list is built. Providers shown here offer social and community support.
  • Outcomes with families. We measure what happens after a family contacts a provider. Providers where families report positive outcomes rank higher. Multiple signals are weighted across a rolling window.
  • Service match. Providers are ranked by how closely their registered services and capabilities match what you are searching for.
  • Registration and compliance. NDIS registered and government-approved aged care providers are weighted for meeting quality and safeguards standards.
  • Local presence. Providers confirmed in Queensland rank above those covering only the broader region.

What "Trusted" means. The Trusted badge is awarded to providers with a consistent record of positive outcomes with families on our platform. It is based on multiple behavioural signals and family feedback, and it cannot be purchased.

How we calculate provider numbers

What "Verified care seeker" means. Any care-seeker feedback shown above is from a real person who used Carevo to connect with that provider and then told us how it went. We only publish feedback tied to a genuine, matched enquiry, never anonymous, unsolicited, or paid reviews.

How to check a provider's credentials

Carevo lists the registration details a provider reports and links you to the official Australian registers so you can confirm them yourself. Here is what each listing shows and where to check it. A listing on Carevo is not an endorsement.

NDIS registration

Listings show whether a provider reports being NDIS registered. You can confirm a provider's current registration and approved support types yourself on the NDIS Commission's public provider register.

Aged care approval

Listings show aged care approval where it is recorded. You can check a provider's current approval and the services they deliver on the Australian Government's My Aged Care find a provider service.

Source: My Aged Care (Department of Health and Aged Care)

ABN you can check

Most listings include the provider's Australian Business Number, shown on the profile. You can look it up on the Australian Business Register to confirm the business is registered and active.

Complaints process

If you have a concern about any provider, you can lodge a complaint with the NDIS Commission or the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission at any time. We also accept complaints via our own channel.

Unregistered providers can still deliver many supports if your plan is plan managed or self managed.

NDIS price caps do not change by state: the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits set the same maximum rates in Queensland as everywhere else in Australia. Higher caps apply in areas classified remote or very remote, which covers parts of Queensland.

How much does community access support cost in Queensland?

Community Access Support in Queensland typically costs $50-$70/hour (group rates available). Actual rates vary by provider, funding type, and the level of support required.

How to pay for community access support

Funding options include NDIS Core Supports. Eligibility depends on your assessment and plan.

Community Access Support by suburb in Queensland

Browse providers in the busiest areas, or use any suburb page to see who services your postcode.

What is community access support?

Community access support is a support worker helping you take part in activities outside the home: social outings, community groups, appointments, shopping, and recreation, not just a lift from A to B. It sits within NDIS Core Supports as Assistance with Social and Community Participation, or within aged care as a social support service (NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2026-27).

How do I choose a community access support provider?

The providers ranked above are ordered using the methodology explained higher on this page. For community access specifically, four checks matter most. Registration: confirm the provider’s NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission registration covers Assistance with Social and Community Participation, and check for Support at Home registration if you need aged care social support instead. Response time: outings and weekly slots need a worker locked in ahead of time, so check the provider against the response-time benchmarks further down this page before you commit. Pricing transparency: ask whether quoted rates cover 1:1 or group support, since group community access is usually priced lower per person than one-to-one outings. Coverage: Carevo has logged 155 community access enquiries nationally, but staff availability is local, so confirm current capacity in your suburb rather than relying on a provider’s general service area.

Which funding pays for community access support?

Community access is funded from two different places depending on who you are. NDIS participants use the Core Supports budget, under Assistance with Social and Community Participation, added to a plan once a planner confirms the goal relates to community, social, or recreational participation (NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2026-27). Older Australians access social support instead, funded under the Independence category of Support at Home, which replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025, following an assessment through the Single Assessment System (Department of Health and Aged Care, 2025). You cannot request either directly. Both follow an assessment first, then a support worker or group program is arranged around the approved budget.

Where community access support is available

Carevo lists 28,004 NDIS providers and 2,619 aged care providers across 4,782 suburbs. Coverage is deepest in New South Wales, with 8,844 NDIS providers, and Victoria, with 7,545. If you need help with specific appointments rather than ongoing social outings, compare transport services, or see social support visits for group-based options funded through Support at Home.

How this page is compiled

The provider rankings and figures on this page come from Carevo platform records, including provider registrations, measured response times and coverage, together with the cited official sources. Carevo is an Australian platform that connects families with vetted NDIS and aged care providers. Carevo does not deliver care itself.
