Looking for the best NDIS providers in Melbourne? Carevo cannot tell you which provider gives the best care, and this list does not try to. This guide ranks registered NDIS providers in Melbourne by their track record on Carevo. Every provider on this list is NDIS registered, has a claimed profile, and has a track record of actually responding to and helping participants who reach out through Carevo.

Whether you need an NDIS provider in Frankston, the western suburbs, the north around Craigieburn, or the south-east through Dandenong, this comparison of NDIS providers in Victoria will help you make a confident choice.

Melbourne NDIS provider numbers

These figures come from live activity on the Carevo platform and refresh as the data updates, so they do not go stale. Last updated 2026-08-26. See how we calculate these numbers.

  • 8,923 NDIS-registered providers listed across Victoria
  • 1,816 Victorian suburbs have at least one provider covering them
  • Median time for a provider to respond to a new request in Victoria: 3 minutes
  • 76% of Victorian requests get a provider response within the hour, 91% within 24 hours
  • Most-requested services across the platform: personal care (1,593 requests), domestic assistance (1,788) and therapy (1,170)

Provider choice is densest through inner Melbourne and the western and northern growth corridors. The Melbourne-area suburbs with the most providers covering them on Carevo (snapshot as of 2026-08-26):

SuburbProviders covering it
Melbourne (CBD)548
Tarneit228
Clyde North170
Truganina169
Craigieburn169
Point Cook161
Werribee160

Each suburb links to the full directory of providers covering it, with registration status and services shown for every listing.

State-wide response figures are measured across every request matched on the platform; the suburb counts are a periodic snapshot of declared service areas. The number of providers creates a real choice problem: most cover only a handful of suburbs and many are slow to respond. This list focuses on registered NDIS providers in Melbourne that stand out on follow-through with participants.

Registered NDIS providers in Melbourne and how to verify registration

Every provider in this list is a registered NDIS provider. Registration matters because registered providers have been assessed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission against set quality and safety standards. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you can only use registered providers. If you self-manage or plan-manage, you can use registered or unregistered providers, but many participants still prefer registered NDIS providers in Melbourne for the added oversight.

To check whether a provider is an NDIS approved provider:

  1. Use the official NDIS Provider Finder. Search the find a registered provider tool on ndis.gov.au by location and service type. This is the authoritative list of registered NDIS providers in Victoria. You can also search those same providers by service, suburb, funding type and speciality in Carevo’s provider finder.
  2. Ask for the provider’s registration details. A registered provider can tell you which registration groups they hold. Those groups define the supports they are approved to deliver, for example high-intensity personal care, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), or support coordination.
  3. Confirm the ABN. A listed ABN, which every provider on this list has, lets you confirm the legal entity behind the service.

The list below covers registered NDIS service providers in Melbourne from St Albans and the western suburbs through Craigieburn and the north to Dandenong and the south-east. A few are broad-coverage, full-service registered providers that list dozens of suburbs (one covers more than 60), which suits participants who want a single provider with wide reach. Several hold high-intensity registration groups suited to complex care, and a couple are registered for Specialist Disability Accommodation if housing is part of your plan.

How this list was built

This list measures one thing: how providers followed through on connections they made through Carevo. It does not assess care quality, safety, staff, outcomes or value, and it is not a list of the best providers in the city.

  • Who can appear. Only providers that meet every condition below can appear: an active Carevo listing; a profile the provider has claimed; NDIS registration in the NDIS Commission register data Carevo imports; a primary listing in this city's metro area; and at least 5 connections made through Carevo. Most registered providers in the city do not meet these conditions and were not considered.
  • Who is excluded. Providers that removed their Carevo listing, show as unregistered in the register data, have fewer than 5 connections, do not offer a hands-on care service, or are demo accounts are excluded. The list is rebuilt from live data, so a provider that stops meeting a condition drops off at the next rebuild.
  • Observation window. The Carevo activity rating counts evidence from the 90 days before the rebuild date shown for this list. The order is a snapshot on that date; it does not update between rebuilds.
  • How the order is set. Providers are sorted by the Carevo activity rating (see How the Carevo activity rating works), then by the number of positive signals behind it, then by suburb coverage. Providers a few places apart often have similar ratings.
  • Minimum data. Fewer than 5 connections is too little to judge follow-through reliably, so those providers are not listed.
  • Payment. Payment is not a ranking input and no position can be bought. Connecting with a family needs a paid Carevo subscription, so every provider here has paid Carevo at some point, and the number subscribing today is shown with each list.

This list, in numbers. 20 providers, drawn from 205 Melbourne providers that met every condition above. List rebuilt from live platform data on 23 September 2026. All 20 have made at least 5 connections through Carevo. 7 of the 20 hold a paid Carevo subscription today.

Carevo makes no judgement about the quality, safety or suitability of any provider on this page. A position on this list is not a recommendation, and it is not a substitute for your own checks. Carevo does not vet, screen, inspect or endorse providers or workers. Registration labels are copied from public government registers and can be out of date, so confirm them on the register before you decide.

How to Choose the Right NDIS Provider in Melbourne

1. Understand your NDIS plan. Be clear on what your plan covers before you start searching. Identify whether you need daily living support, therapy, accommodation, or community participation.

2. Check registration status. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you can only use registered providers. Verify at ndis.gov.au. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can use both registered and unregistered providers.

3. Verify suburb coverage. Many providers list broad service areas but have limited availability in specific suburbs. Always confirm directly that they can start services at your address.

4. Ask about staff consistency. One of the most common complaints in the NDIS is inconsistent staff. Ask how they handle allocation and what happens when your regular support worker is unavailable.

5. Request a trial period. Most providers will offer a trial. Use this to assess whether the provider and their staff are the right fit before committing to a longer agreement.

6. Read your service agreement carefully. Pay attention to notice periods (typically 2-4 weeks), cancellation terms, and pricing. Ask about any fees outside the price limits in the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27, the document most people still call the NDIS price guide.
