What goes on a great NDIS support worker resume
Australian providers and participants screen candidates quickly. A clean, one-page resume that names the role, the hours per week you are available, the conditions you have supported, and your compliance documents will get further than a generic CV. Aim for clarity over length, and put the things employers verify (NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR, driver's licence) where they can be found at a glance.
How to describe your experience and who you have supported
List the conditions you have practical experience with, not every condition you have read about. Providers want to match you with participants whose support you can deliver from day one. If you have worked with autism, intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, complex mental health, or mobility assistance, name them. If you have worked with children, adults, or both, say so. Honesty here builds trust and protects the participant.
Compliance documents employers expect
A typical NDIS-registered provider will ask for, at minimum: a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check (if you support participants under 18), current First Aid and CPR certificates, a Police Check, a driver's licence and a reliable vehicle, and proof of personal accident or public liability insurance for independent work. Listing these on the resume signals you are ready to start, not still preparing.
Support areas to highlight (and how to choose yours)
Pick the support categories that match the participant goals you want to work on, not every category in the NDIS Price Guide. The most commonly hired-for areas are personal care, community access, social support, transport, daily living, capacity building, emotional support, and behaviour support implementation. Editing each label on this builder lets you tune the wording to match what providers in your area advertise.
Photo, tone, and design that pass the first screen
A friendly, well-lit headshot helps participants picture you in their home. Keep the tone warm and specific: "I enjoy helping people build confidence in their community" tells a participant something useful; "passionate and dedicated" does not. The template here is deliberately calm and personal so it reads more like a profile than a corporate CV, which suits support work better.

How do I save the resume as a PDF?

Does the builder save my work if I close the tab?
Yes. All edits, including your uploaded photo, are saved locally in your browser. When you come back, your resume restores automatically. Nothing is sent to a server, so you keep full control of your data.
What should an NDIS support worker resume include?
Australian providers expect: a clear role title (for example, "Disability Support Worker - Community Access"), years of experience, the conditions and ages you have supported, the support areas you can deliver (personal care, transport, social support, capacity building), and your compliance documents (NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR, driver's licence and insurance).
Do I need an NDIS Worker Screening Check to apply for support work?
Most NDIS-registered providers require a current NDIS Worker Screening Check before you start. Some informal or independent roles allow you to apply while your check is in progress. Use Carevo's Worker Screening Checker to confirm what you need for your state and the type of role you want.
